ST24 - This model has 170 bhp (130 kW) from its 2.5-litre V6 24v engine which allows reach speed of 100 km/h iin 8.0 seconds.

ST200 - This model has the 2.5-litre V6 24v engine producing 202 bhp (151 kW which allows reach a maximum speed of 151 mph (243 km/h).

Notes: Its name "Mondeo" means in Latin "world". This generation is sometimes known as the Mk I facelift as changes between first and second generation are not so big. Essential changes can be noticed in front and rear lights' design as well as almost every external panel replaced. Some safety features were also improved.
